A flash of harmless lightning,
A mist of rainbow dyes,
The burnished sunbeams brightening,
From flower to flower he flies.
- John Tabb -

This morning I found a hummingbird who had struggled against a screen
on my back deck. His beak was caught halfway through it and he was
laying on the ledge exhausted. I picked him up and held him in my hands
while I sat in the sun with my 9 year old son, Jonah. After about 25 minutes, and much to our delight and relief, this little male hummingbird flew from my hand in a blur.
