                   Sunset In Oregon
My husband and I recently had a week vacation on the beautiful Oregon coast.
I loved combing the beaches for shells, and my husband enjoyed flying a kite
along the shore. We had great seafood,  and enjoyed many scenic hiking trails.
I tried to capture the sun setting over the ocean each night.

SENTINELS AT SUNSET
The following video shows the progression of a painting
that I have just completed. Fisher Peak and the Steeples
are formidable snow covered summits highlighted against
a beautiful vista of purple and pink clouds at sunset.

A Mountain Range At Sunset
14" x 48" Acrylic on Hardboard
I am happy with the soft and smooth affect that I have created
in the clouds above my mountain range here. I have had to play
with the pressure on my compressor in order to get the fine spray
that I wanted from my airbrush. It is not as easy as I thought it
would be. I enjoy using it though and feel that it will be of great
value for larger paintings such as this one.

Preparing to Airbrush

I  have started to block in colours on a 14" x 48" hardboard.
I have a series of photos that I snapped of a beautiful sunset
over Fisher Peak and the Steeples. I enlarged my photos
at Staples and have them right above my board for reference.
As you can see, I have placed my squares to help me map
out this long picture. I am going to use my airbrush to give the
clouds a very soft and blended look.
