A Morning Stroll
8 x 10 Wood Burning

This is the second wood burning I have completed for
the Headwater's Art Society's show at Pynelogs on
May 14th - 27th, 2013. The reception is from
7:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday the 17th.
The Grizzly is an adolescent that I photographed on
my trip through Kamloops in April.

Red Tailed Hawk
WOOD BURNING
Years ago my grandmother gave me a wood burning tool
that had belonged to my grandfather. Recently, I created this
8 x 10 panel that shows a red tailed hawk perched on a tree
branch. I plan to frame and display it at Pynelogs during the
Headwaters Art Society's show in May. The exhibit will take
place from May 14th to May 28th, 2013. The reception is being
held on Friday, May 17th, 2013.
Hope to see you there!

WOOD BURNING
ON BURL

This is a burl that my husband cut at an angle so that I could create a free-standing piece of art. I am fortunate to have my grandfather's woodburning tool. I have created family signs, plaques and free-standing scenes of wildlife and landscapes.

I like to use naturally occuring knots and grains in the wood to represent elements of my scenes, such as this particular knot which I felt looked like a sun or moon above this mule deer buck.
