Most people who know me and watch my blog will know that I have been incredibly influenced by the talent, genius and heart of Terry Isaac. I was so very sad to learn of his passing on July 16th. Terry was a gifted artist and teacher who was very generous with his knowledge and his time. I am honoured to have known him, to have learnt from him and to have called him my friend.

Terry has been chosen as the 2019 Ducks Unlimited Artist of the year.

Painting The Drama of Wildlife

in Discovery Center, Canal Flats, B.C. Seven lucky artists participated in

the workshop on April 7th and 8th, 2018, and much fun was had by all.

Terry offered gentle critiques and lessons on composition.

We were very privileged to learn from such a gifted artist and teacher.

Come along for the adventure!

     Today I am happy to announce that my friend, and founding member of the Headwater's Art Society, Paula Cravens, will be presenting an acrylic, abstract workshop in April, 2017.  I am very excited to share the information with you. Paula will be sharing tips and techniques on composition, colour, gelli prints, stamps, and focal points. She will give demonstrations and a power point presentation. There will be ample time for painting and experimenting with watercolour papers and canvas. The weekend will kick off with a wine and cheese reception on Friday night, April 28th.  POPPY WORKSHOP

      On Saturday, May 14th a group of ladies joined me at the Headwater's Art Room at the Discovery Center in Canal Flats. We spent a full day together learning to paint in acrylics. Everyone painted from the same reference and yet each creation was different and unique. It was great to see individual styles emerge. 

     

 I would like to thank the Columbia Basin Trust for the grant that we received enabling our art society to offer workshops like these for our community.

GLASS  WORKSHOP

I am very excited about this upcoming workshop in Canal Flats on 

October 4th and 5th, 2014. Darlene Madden will be our instructor 

( Inspiro Mixed Media).We will be creating 14" glass mandalas from 

stained and tempered glass, ceramics, tiles and embellishments. 

The class will start at 10am and run until 4pm on Saturday. 

Sunday's class begins at 10am and willl finish between 2 and 3pm. 

Cost for the class is $160.00 for non-members and $150.00 for 

members of the Headwaters Art Society. Participants must register

An Isaac Original

This is a picture of the small example that Terry Isaac painted of my photo of poppies. I attended a workshop in Penticton with Terry in mid-October and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I learned a lot from Terry's critique of my own paintings and those of the other students as well. For anyone who desires to paint "photo realism" I highly recommend taking one of Terry's workshops.

 

PAINTING WORKSHOP WITH TERRY ISAAC

On October 12, 13 & 14, 2012, I was fortunate to attend an advanced workshop in Penticton, B.C. with Terry Isaac. He is a wonderful instructor and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. These are photos of a painting that I began and worked on while at Terry's Gallery. The reference is a photo of my golden retreiver, Max.
