           Thank you to all the wonderful and creative ladies that signed up for my workshops for the Fairmont Art Retreat. I enjoyed meeting everyone and thought your paintings were beautiful. It was lovely to spend the day up at the ski hill together.

Cake Art

On Saturday, July 2nd, I had a big BBQ in my backyard for my son Dawson. He graduated from D.T.S.S. this year and has always been my bookworm. I thought it fitting to make his graduation cake look like a few books. I used fondant to cover my cakes and then used some decorating gel to add the writing and some texture to the book covers. I was quite happy with the result.

 POPPY WORKSHOP

      On Saturday, May 14th a group of ladies joined me at the Headwater's Art Room at the Discovery Center in Canal Flats. We spent a full day together learning to paint in acrylics. Everyone painted from the same reference and yet each creation was different and unique. It was great to see individual styles emerge. 

     

 I would like to thank the Columbia Basin Trust for the grant that we received enabling our art society to offer workshops like these for our community.
